Either I will come back after hoisting the Tricolour (Indian flag), or I will come back wrapped in it, but I will be back for sure.” — Captain Vikram Batra

Have you ever wondered how we manage to sleep soundly and remain safe at all times? It’s because our Indian soldiers have to sacrifice their peace and normalcy to protect us 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They are trained to always put our country first.

They give up comfort, sleep, safety and suffer to serve our nation so the people in our country can be safe and peaceful and have freedom at all times.

The slogan of our Indian army is “Seva Parmo-Dharmah” which means Seva(service) is the supreme Dharma. This itself sums up what soldiers have to live unto — service, for our nation despite conditions of health, weather, circumstances.

Army Day is celebrated on 15 January every year in India, in recognition of Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa’s taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Francis Roy Bucher, the last British Commander-in-chief of India, on 1949.

Despite having a family of their own, Indian soldiers consider the whole nation as a family and put forward our safety and plan each and every strategy to protect us from possible attacks, threats and enemies. They do not hesitate to help people even when they are not in the border of the country. All they prioritize is our safety. Be it on the border or when the country when we face threats.

Soldiers never have a day off. If there is an emergency or more soldiers are needed to handle the issue, they must report to the designated site.

While joining the armed force a clear mindset is set by all the soldiers that they are no longer a normal individual, now they have to be responsible and accountable for any action taken or done by them and in any situation, they have to keep Nation first and must go to any extent as far as the safety of the nation is concerned. Whether it’s scorching heat, heavy rain, or shivering cold they are averting and always ready to face any uncertainty on the border or any region of the nation such as rescuing victims of natural calamities, hi-jack or any terror attack in any holy or public place by the enemy’s sleeper-cells. Anywhere anytime they are required and expected to serve the nation.

Indian Army is always serving our nation without expecting anything in return, sacrificing a lot many joys and comforts of their lives. Many have become martyred and it’s the harsh reality many soldiers’ family don’t even have any source of income to lead their lives after them.

The theme of 2022 of Indian Army Day being “In Stride with the Future”, emphasizes on the critical role of technologies that are disruptive to modern welfare. The Indian Army confronts a plethora of security challenges, conventional and non-traditional, and is looking at Artificial Intelligence (AI), 5G Communications, Robotics and Control, and Quantum Technology to find innovative solutions to these emerging challenges.

Despite this, the soldiers continue to pursue this path, ensuring our safety in this country. To those who are reading this and will be soldiers in the near future :

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH.

We value the sacrifice of our Indian Army and we heartily appreciate everything they are doing for the nation.

HAPPY INDIAN ARMY DAY TO EVERYONE.
